Best Life Counseling

GROUPS

Best Life Counseling LLC offers low-cost, high quality group experiences that give participants access to expertise from a licensed therapist and interactive support and shared experience from group participants.

Groups give participants an opportunity to:

  • Learn
  • Process your needs
  • Practice new skills and techniques

Groups start every other month and run for 8 weeks.

Each weekly meeting is 60-90 minutes and costs $50 – $75.

These groups are NOT support groups. Instead, our groups draw from the fields of psychology and neuroscience to (a) educate participants’ on how the human brain works; (2) build awareness of participants’ specific habits and tendencies; and (3) facilitate skill development so that participants have practices they can utilize moving forward.

CURRENT GROUPS

Life After Loss: Overcoming Grief

Using a structured 8-week process for Grief Recovery, you will engage in uncovering those things you wish you had done Differently, Better or More with regard to a particular loss. Armed with this knowledge, you will engage in an activity intended to help you release feelings of guilt, shame, embarrassment, anger and fear so that you can return to living life (not just enduring it).

Anxiety: Flipping the Script

This group is for people who feel inundated with frequent “what if…” thoughts or often feel an impending sense of doom. In this group, you will learn that thoughts are things and they dictate how you feel. We will teach you to notice the thoughts that trigger your anxiety, to see how these thoughts impact your body, your perspective and others around you, and learn methods to help you focus on better-feeling thoughts.

Freedom From Food: Stop Compulsive Over-eating

This group is for people who struggle with compulsively over-eating whether that is episodic binge-eating, eating too much at every or most meals, or late-night snacking that one struggles to stop. You will take time to notice your tendencies, explore the roots of these tendencies, and learn tools to change your compulsive eating behaviors.

How the Human Psyche Works

Many people believe heir negative, lonely, sad or fearful thoughts are all that exists; that such thoughts are all they are capable of. This 8-week course introduces participants to basic neuroscientific principles explaining how their brain works; helps participants build awareness of their specific harmful thoughts; and learn and practice skills to move away from negative, harmful thinking.
